Newborn Unit (NBU)

The Newborn Unit (NBU) is dedicated to the specialized care of newborns who need extra medical attention. Premature babies, those with low birth weight, or those born with complications require close monitoring in this unit. The NBU is equipped with incubators, phototherapy machines, and ventilators to provide a controlled environment for these fragile infants.

Highly trained neonatologists and nurses oversee the care of these newborns, ensuring that they receive the necessary nutrition, oxygen support, and medication. In cases where babies are unable to breastfeed, they are provided with alternative feeding methods, such as nasogastric tubes, to ensure they receive adequate nourishment. Regular health assessments are conducted to track the baby’s progress and development.

Family involvement is encouraged in the newborn care process. Parents are given guidance on how to handle and care for their baby, even in a delicate state. Kangaroo mother care, which involves skin-to-skin contact, is promoted to enhance bonding and improve the baby’s overall health. The goal of the NBU is to provide these newborns with the best possible start in life.
