High Dependency Unit (HDU)
The High Dependency Unit (HDU) caters to patients who are critically ill but do not require full ICU support. These patients often need intensive monitoring and medical intervention after major surgeries, severe infections, or life-threatening conditions such as respiratory distress or heart failure. The HDU is designed to bridge the gap between general wards and the ICU, providing an intermediate level of care.

Equipped with advanced monitoring systems, ventilators, and infusion pumps, the HDU allows medical professionals to track vital signs continuously. A dedicated team of doctors and nurses ensures that patients receive timely interventions, including oxygen therapy, intravenous medication, and round-the-clock observation. The HDU helps stabilize patients before they are moved to a general ward or, if necessary, upgraded to the ICU.
Patients in the HDU are closely monitored for any changes in their condition, ensuring early detection of complications. Family members are kept informed about the patient’s progress and are encouraged to participate in their recovery journey. The specialized care provided in the HDU significantly improves patient outcomes and increases the chances of a full recovery.
